Overview

Gambote News is a community-driven platform created to preserve, document and share the history, culture and daily life of Gambote.

The project was born after identifying the lack of a centralized digital space where the community could preserve its historical memory while also sharing local news, cultural events and stories.

Unlike a traditional news website, Gambote News combines journalism, digital preservation and community participation in a single platform.


The Challenge

The biggest challenge was designing a platform capable of supporting multiple types of content while remaining simple enough for long-term maintenance.

The solution consists of a modern architecture built on top of Next.js App Router and Supabase.

Content is written using MDX, allowing each article and project to combine text, React components, images and rich media without sacrificing performance.
